Analytical agency Esports Charts has published research on the popularity of esports and streaming in the CIS for 2020 and a list of popular studios in the region broadcasting official matches.
General statistics of popular Esports disciplines in 2020
The total amount of hours of watching Esports on Russian-language broadcasts was 200 million. More than half of these (51.4%) were on Dota 2 broadcasts. Most of the views (77.6%) were on Twitch, the remaining 22.4% on YouTube.
The most popular Esports studios in the CIS
The first place with almost 73 million hours watched was taken by Maincast, followed by Ruhub with 50 million hours and Weplay with 13 million. Interestingly, Maincast and RuHub spent almost the same amount of hours on the air, and the difference in views was almost 30%.
