Team SMG fires its CEO
Team SMG has published a post to the community on Twitter, where it clarified the situation with participation in Regional Qualifiers.
First of all, the organization apologized to ??Daryl "iceiceice" Koh Pei Xiang and ??Wilson "poloson" Koh, as they joined the team shortly before the disqualification. Recall that Team SMG failed to update the roster info in time and missed The International 11 Regional Qualifiers. The reason for such a mistake was a communication breakdown between its managers and players. The Malaysian team took strict measures and stepped down Kenchi Yap as CEO.
Also, Team SMG reported that they appealed to Valve as soon as they found out about the disqualification. However, it didn't work, and the developer rejected it. Now the team has only to prepare for DPC 2023.
Regional Qualifiers in Southeast Asia are scheduled for September 13-17. The winner of the qualifiers receives a direct invitation to the main tournament of the year, and two other teams advance to Last Chance.
