Playing Dota 2 with modified client files is no longer possible
The new Dota 2 client patch of January 14 removed the ability to play with modified local files. The system won't allow the players to search for the game and issue a warning.
Earlier this year, the Tundra Esports's member ??Neta "33" Shapira was accused by the Team Tickles's coach ??Daniel "ImmortalFaith" Moza of modifying Dota 2 client files. The player was incredibly quick to give commands to the summons on Broodmother, which couldn't be made without changing the files. After that, Valve introduced an additional command in the game's client, allowing you to switch between controlled creatures.
Reddit users have noticed that the ban on the modification files in Dota 2 hit not only the gaming aspects but also programs like Skin Changer, which previously allowed you to customize the heroes at the local level.
