Another midlaner making it to the list of DLTV’s best players of 2024 is BetBoom Team’s gpk~, who has returned to the team’s active roster after a short break. Before the year ended, gpk~ stood in for kiyоtaka in the BetBoom Team, where he won his first S-Tier event at Blast Slam I.
Team Accolades
gpk~ spent the entire year playing for the BetBoom Team, apart from a short hiatus after The International 2024. In the first half of the year, the BetBoom Team would consistently make deep runs at big events, finishing third and second at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 and DreamLeague Season 22, respectively, but could never go over the finish line to win it all. Another second-place finish to Team Falcons at ESL One Birmingham 2024 continued the trend.
After a slip-up at PGL Wallachia Season 1, where the team finished outside of the top ten, BetBoom Team took third place at DreamLeague Season 23. However, the BetBoom Team went silent for the two largest events of the year, with a top six finish at Riyadh Masters 2024 and a top eight finish at The International 2024.
After The International 2024, gpk~ took some time to rest, and his spot on the team was taken by kiyоtaka. Though the BetBoom Team looked like it got an upgrade, they still couldn’t win tournaments. gpk~ then stood in for kiyоtaka for Blast Slam I, as the latter was having visa issues. It seemed like the stars aligned with gpk~ played with the new BetBoom roster, as he could claim the organization’s first victory at Blast Slam I.
