Quest Esports Force Puppey To Miss His First TI
In Round 4 of the Lower Bracket, Quest Esports was tasked to play against Puppey and his crew in an elimination match. For the first time in his life, Puppey will not attend The International after Quest Esports won the series 2-1.
Team Secret had decent control over the first game, but one horrendous fight from them allowed Quest Esports to turn the game around. After 54 minutes, Secret was forced to tap out.
In the second game, Team Secret, namely Armel, played clean Dota to stomp the game with a kill score of 31-9 to keep the series even.
It came down to a deciding third game, where Team Secret came out of the laning phase comfortably. However, Quest Esports made a good smoke rotation to Secret's Triangle, killing all three cores after chasing them down to Tier 4s. These kills gave Quest complete control over the game, denying Secret’s chance of making it to TI.
With Puppey’s elimination, no player has attended every TI, but Puppey still holds the record at eleven TIs.
Quest Esports has not qualified yet, as they will have a rematch against Luna Galaxy for the final TI slot.
