Mad Kings Release Roster After Stinger Incident

    News
    Published at: 2024-01-18 05:03:00

Yesterday, position five player Stinger from Mad Kings received a Valve ban on his account during their DreamLeague Season 22 Qualifier match against Thunder Awaken.

Stinger's account was banned because his teammate, Parker, was playing ranked matchmaking on his account. Valve released a huge ban wave for smurfs and account sharers, and Stinger's account was caught in the crossfire.

Due to Stinger's account getting banned in the middle of the match, Mad Kings had to forfeit the game and series, eliminating themselves from the Qualifier.

A day after the incident, the Mad Kings organization announced on Twitter that they had released the entire Dota 2 roster:

“We want to inform you about everything that happened yesterday, January 16. To give you context, we began a collaboration with the team, supporting this roster with the use of our gaming house during the month of January, with a view of obtaining sponsors or organizations interested in investing in this project.

During our game against Thunder Awaken, Stinger’s account was banned by Valve along with many others for account sharing, and he could not continue playing the match. We want to highlight that the reason for banning the account was not due to boosting, contrary to what was stated by “Mini”.

It is important to note that we recognize and respect the rules established by Valve, which we accept and promote as an integral part of our organization. Due to these rules being breached, we have made the decision to end our collaboration with the roster.

For the moment, we will take a break from participating in competitions, but we will continue to bring the content and coverage that our community and followers support so much.”

The Mad Kings roster that was released:

Not only did Mad Kings fail to qualify for DreamLeague Season 22, but they also could not qualify for BetBoom DACHA Dubai 2024. The roster was signed on December 29 last year and did not even last a month.
