East Power Cup – another scam tournament
Be careful! East Power Cup tournament appeared on some betting and tournament aggregators sites. This is a scam that teams haven't heard anything about.
Last week we received information on the website with a detailed description of the new tournament's format. Team Aster, Elephant, EHOME, Invictus Gaming, and other top teams from China were listed as participants. The tournament prize pool was $100,000, and the CDA (Chinese Dota 2 Association) was credited as the organizer.
But before publishing the announcement of the new tournament, we asked several teams about their participation in the tournament but received a negative answer. Other schedule aggregators didn't check anything and added the tournament to their schedules. And today, some bookmakers began to accept bets on the East Power Cup matches.
After the start of the fake tournament, we looked at the profiles of teams and players in the lobby. Their IDs are different from the real ones and follow each other. Apparently, they were created right before the start of the first game day.
